Sony A300 Perfect for the Beginner Photographer

The Sony A300 is perfect for a beginner photographer like me. I know, I once mentioned that the Olympus E510 was the perfect camera for me but it does not have the Auto Focus function on its LiveView. Anyway, the Sony A300 has everything that the e510 has to offer.



Additionally, the 200K plus pixels LiveView 2.7” LCD panel tilts up & down too. Along with the superb white colored telephoto lens that will be in my photography equipment to buy list. I can do without the 4/3 lens of the e510 which to my understanding is good because a 4/3 telephoto lens is lighter than others.

Why am I going with Sony with regards to my photography equipment? Firstly, I like the white colored telephoto lens (I’m really not akin to having black DSLR camera but there is not much choice for DSLR users like me at the moment). Hence, having a white telephoto lens makes it pleasing for my eyes.

Of course, the white telephoto lens offers superb performance. Secondly, the Sony A300 has all the features & more of my previous favorite beginner DSLR, the Olympus e510. New Sony LiveView with AutoFocus

Sony did mention why it did not make a LiveView function on the Sony A700 (Digital Single Lens Reflex). It was because Sony wanted to make the best LiveView function for its customers. Well, anyway, the Sony A700 is too pricey for me. So when the Sony A300 was announced with the new Sony LiveView function with the AF (AutoFocus feature), I was ecstatic. It only offers about 10 megapixels but I reckon I will not be utilizing the 12 megapixels because I am not going to print out a photo that is going to fill an entire wall.

My Simple Sales Training Experience

My training experience was simple as the job scope of sales assistant in a laserdisc (laserdics was an advanced disc format much like how Blueray disc is now more than a decade ago) shop is pretty straight forward. The training mostly consisted of operating the price labeling machine which takes only a few minutes to learn. It's not a comprehensive type of training in my opinion.



Other aspects of the job like calling customers regarding their orders did not require training but simply to be courteous & polite. I reckon other professions like plumbing would require proper Plumbing Training as there are many skills involved in the work.

Touchdown at Tashkent Airport

I had not been to the Tashkent airport before so I felt excited & happy as the plane arrived to the airport. You could view the Uzbekistan airport as full of Uzbekistan airline planes after touchdown. The parked Uzbekistan planes were mostly large Russian cargo planes & more than a few Airbus planes & Boeings.

There was only one other plane parked at the airport which was not belonging to Uzbekistan airlines which was a Boeing 747 belonging to MAS (Malaysia Airlines System) Air Cargo. Planes could not dock directly to the terminal building. Passengers had to go by bus to the airport buildings. I was quite glad to be going off the plane as the flight did not have any internet connection.

Lover’s Day in Tatarstan 2008

My self & Gulfiya spent our Lover’s Day at a French café in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. It was a fantastic place to relax & have a good meal. It is a romantic and very stylish place. You could see lot of wonderful fresh flowers on the tables, at the entrance, & even hung on the ceiling too.

14 of February in Russia was quite cold; -20c! Hence the fresh flowers made the French café so warm and comfortable. At the restaurant we ate mushroom soup and cheesecake with cappuccino. It was delicious and very tasty. I think every couple girl and boy is responsible for its comfort, love and good spirit on Lover’s day. It is why we decided to spend our Valentines Day in the French café.

MS Office Software Price Ridiculous for Average Users

Perhaps you have used Microsoft office once before for your writing, accounting, report, assignment, & etc. I hardly know anybody who does not use the software. Anyway, the price is not spare change for most users especially for students. At $400 to $800, the Microsoft Office software is necessary software for many yet it is pricey.

It seems like Microsoft is really hiking the price for its MS Office programs as there are waaaaayyyy much cheaper & perhaps better alternative programs in the market. I mean, the price is perhaps playable by Microsoft when it was the only MS Office software in the market but now the price is just ridiculous for the average users.

Swam in Langkawi Island Beach, Malaysia

One of the days when I was in Langkawi Island, Malaysia; I went to the beach with Gulfiya & my father. My self & Gulfiya swam in the beach while my father chatted with another man on the beach. The water is cool & will not make your skin itchy unlike some beaches on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The beach does not have crystal clear waters but at least it still looks the same like it did 10 years ago. Anyway, I guess it is difficult to find crystal clear waters & white sandy beaches on Langkawi Island. One would have to travel up north to other less developed islands near the Malaysian-Siamese border. More about Langkawi Island & Malaysia.

No Broadband Cell Phone Internet Service in Tatarstan

Anyway, ADSL is much faster than Dial-up internet connection. The ADSL internet connection is not an option for me at the moment because the internet is hardly ever used other than me at the place where I am staying in Tatarstan. Also, I was told that the wireless internet connection via broadband cell phone is not yet available in Tatarstan. Well, I guess it could come to Tatarstan after a few months at best.

So the internet connection in Tatarstan may not be as slow as I thought it would be previously. An acquaintance from Tatarstan of mine uses the ADSL unlimited internet connection at his home. He pays around $30 per month for the unlimited internet connection & told me that the connection goes around 500 kbps which is about half of what I receive at home in Malaysia. Wireless internet access is available at café’s for $4 an hour. Pricey!

No More Paypal to VMI Withdrawals for Me

Well, I thought to myself that it was quite strange. I opened my Paypal account & saw that my funds had been reversed. Well, so much for my VMI debit card. It was good while it lasted. I still have around $3 remaining in my VMI debit card account which I doubt that I can ever use.
