No, its not the super stealth jet fighter in the movie starring Clint Eastwood although it was my favorite movie when I was young. Its the popular internet browser from Mozilla. Firefox 3 is touted to be as fast as IE7 multiplied by 5 & as fast as Firefox 2 multiplied by 3.

Ok, so apart from being faster than its predecessor & of course, the less performing IE7; Firefox 3 Beta has some new improvements.

• Type in part of the URL it will offer suggestions based on past browsing. (I wonder where it saves all the information after we clear the cookies?) Unless the feature stays even after the cache is cleared, then I reckon its a good feature. I'm not worried about Firefox saving the information of my browsing habits permanently because it seems that it would have to in order to make the feature work.

• Better look & better menu controls.

• Zoom just the text or the whole page. Zooming the text was one feature I missed from Firefox 2 (Do you need it? Anyway, I never knew how to use it).

• Reduced memory usage. Old version often becomes unstable after a long session with many tabs open. Never mind the long sessions, I just open like 20 tabs & my computer slows down. PpHhbbTtt! :P


I'm still using Firefox 2 but will upgrade once Firefox 3 is no longer in Beta mode ooorrrr...it automatically upgrades itself. I usually let things upgrade itself when it comes to internet browsers. :-D How about you?

5.6" Tablet PC Fujitsu U1010 for Toddlers

It’s a miniaturized tablet pc, it’s a miniaturized mobile DVD viewer, it’s a super intelligent writers pad; no, it’s the Fujitsu 5.6" Touchscreen U1010 Ultraportable. The mini notebook uses the new Intel Sealey processor running at 800MHz. No, not enough power for multi tasking. One can have fun using it like a tablet pc; no, actually like a smartphone but only with a bigger touch screen interface. It is lacking a lot when it comes down to performance.

The standard offering 1GB of ram will take the Vista through its workings but opening more than a few applications will slow things down. I tried it with a 540 Celeron 1.6ghz/1GB ram notebook to experience the above results I reckon 800mhz (even though its a Sealey chip) is about half of what you could be expecting from the U1010 Ultraportable. Keyboards usage is for the hands of toddlers as a reviewer had pointed out them being too small (I'm starting to suspect they were the target market for the device). So are Japanese toddlers really so smart? It’s a 5.6” ultraportable so do not expect regular notebook keyboard usage.




Reviewers have mentioned that the 2 cell lit-ion battery can last just above 2 hours (4 cell version touted to be released soon providing about 5 hours of operation). It’s normal. How would one use the Fujitsu 5.6" Touchscreen U1010 Ultraportable? Well, like a high tech writing pad; use Word & do simple spreadsheet applications, view movies with DVDs on the optional optical drive (No idea how much more one has to pay), listen to MP3 music, & wait for the upgrade kit to use it as a cell phone to make calls (I’m just kidding. Lol :-D). Historians would want to purchase the ultraportable too as the device is a few steps closer to having a powerful, video editing capable smartphone.
