• Once done, you can key in the 10 alpha numeric password to secure your wireless home network by going to the wireless setting as in the below picture. Note: use the 64 bit key type for a 10 alpha numeric password, 128 bit for a 32 alpha numeric password, & 152 bit for a 72 alpha numeric password. I suggest for you to go with 64 bit because it will be easier to key-in the password into other computers in your wireless network in the future.


Thereafter, other laptops to be included in your wireless network are easy work & should be as easy as switching on the wireless & key-in the password. Not Plug & Play Aztech Wireless Router Situation

I received my Aztech 802.11b/g Wireless Broadband Router WL830RT4 today via Skynet courier today. Skynet sounds like the robotic corporation that created the Terminator machines in Hollywood movies. Lol. Funny! Anyway, I found the device to be much smaller than I expected! My expectations of the device to be ‘Plug & Play’ was easily shattered when I plugged everything correctly to my computer & ADSL modem but the thing did not play!

Do you expect fast & efficient customer service?

Soon after, I called the Aztech support in Malaysia. I only had like half an hour before the support ends their office hours at 5.45pm. Sad to say that they only had one technician at the Malaysian Aztech office as the other technician was out on field work. Without anticipation, I was asked to call again after ten minutes which I did & the technician was still busy. I gave them my contact numbers & told them to call me as soon as possible.

Heck, my wireless network connection cannot wait! :-) Of course, the half an hour soon passed & as I expected, no call from the Aztech support technician. Well, no choice for me but to wait for tomorrow to resolve the situation. I hope the solution is not complicated which is usually the case with new computer devices. It is just that we typical computer users do not know how to go about doing it!

I did take a look at a newer 802.11 n wireless router, the Aztech WL950RT4 Wireless N Router from Aztech but it is priced at about thrice the cost of the one I bought. I pondered upon the use of the 802.11 n in my home: Its top speed is about 270Mbps provided that all connected devices are of 802.11 n standard too. I do not want the rest of my family to be using more bandwidth than the amount I am currently experiencing on a direct connection which is about 100Mbps. Slow internet sucks! Also, a few questions came to my mind.

Who uses an 802.11 n laptop in my home? Nobody
When will I reckon be using an 802.11 n laptop? In about 2 years
Do I have other devices that are of 802.11 n standard? No

After answering the questions above, I arrived upon the decision that an 802.11 n wireless router will not be of optimal use in my home. The rest was easy. Let me tell you about my one experience with an advertiser at one of the up & coming blogging marketplace on the internet. The advertiser offered me two opps (opportunities) for sponsored posts which was $10 each minus the fees. It was about a review on an e-book. It took about two weeks for me to receive the e-book so I wrote a 150 words plus review mentioning the e-book, referring to the url websites the advertiser provided bloggers. Just a week ago, the advertiser finally got the e-books circulated to the bloggers so I told her that I had finished the reviews. Now, the advertiser wants the reviews corrected because it is not a review of the e-book.

The advertiser expects bloggers to read the e-book & then write a review about it?

For goodness sakes, the e-book is 180 plus pages long! I might as well go find a good book to read rather than the market research niche e-book. The advertiser definitely has no idea about how bloggers write sponsored posts.

Mozilla Firefox 3 is Good!

I tried to use Firefox 3 from Mozilla like about a month ago. It was the Beta Version. I did not like it because many of my add-ons could not work. So I could not contribute to its development. Very recently, after reading about the new Firefox 3 being no longer in Beta, I downloaded & installed it to replace my Firefox 2 web browser. No longer can you see tabs on the top for making screenshots!

Why do you think you should or should not use the Firefox 3 as your default web browser?

I can tell you that it looks better & most of my add-ons are functioning. Thank goodness! One thing I like about the Firefox 3 is that when I do a F11 to maximize the screen, the browser truly takes up the entire monitor space.

Also, the organize bookmarks window has changed & a lot of other layouts have changed too. Nonetheless, it is not without faults. The Firefox 3 had crashed quite a few instances, rather noticeably as compared to when I was using Firefox 2. It was because I had opened about 3 browser windows with plenty of sites filled in them. It was not so much of a problem until I started using Firefox 3. The browser keeps disappearing on me when I use it a lot like downloading videos & etc. Well, anyway, overall, I hope I can stick to using Firefox 3 as my default web browser. I like it, it’s good!
