Click It Like There Is No Tomorrow

After you switch on the PC, You CLICK IT!
You open a file, You CLICK IT!
You open the web browser, You CLICK IT!
You go to a web site, You CLICK IT!
You see anything interesting on a site, You CLICK IT!
“CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK!”

Do you get my point now? People click on the mouse so much, especially when on the internet that clicking should be classified as a form of exercise.

Tests done on groups of avid internet users ranging from the age of 12 to 127 by the University of CLICK-IT revealed that 99% of avid internet users can’t stop clicking the mouse when using the internet. “Click it like there’s no tomorrow,” said Mr. Clicks; spokesman for the Hard Core Mouse Clickers Union. He was seen with a group of mouse extremists picketing against the ill treatment of plastic mice outside the Mousington plastic recycling plant.

This excessive clicking phenomenon contributes to the fact that psychological injuries ensued by broken computer mice is now the 2nd most irritating experience for the average internet user, resulting in an uncomfortable ‘Pain in the A55’ user experience, according to the Orion News Network. Worse off, Mr. Kontrolas; head of the Federal Department of Global A55 Control admits, “‘Pain in the A55’ complaints resulting from crappy mouse use are increasing at an alarming rate. Although, at first place is still slow internet connection which, since 1989 is the worst ‘Pain in the A55’. Now, however, slow internet connection leads bad mouse clicking experience by only a small margin for being a ‘Pain in the A55’. This is probably due to the advancement of current broadband technology worldwide.”

Thankfully, there is a cure for mouse clicking addicts who suffer from the ‘Clicking Way Too Much’ global epidemic, coming in the form of super interactive touch screens. Such advanced touch screen technology are similar to those featured on the Apel iProne & iProd Touch but only better as they assert the use all ten fingers. Talk about productivity! No more will the mouse click addict feel bad about having nine other useless fingers while on the internet!

The most skillful advanced mouse clickers use two to three fingers, nonetheless, a far cry to what the future of super interactive touch screen technology brings. Advanced touch screen technology of the near future will have the mouse placed into the museum archives as computer tools of a bygone era. With the coming Wendows Seben being ‘Touch’ capable, it becomes necessary for computer manufacturers to offer more products that emphasis the use of multiple finger prodding.

Now is the opportunity for all computer & internet users to practice the multiple finger-dancing skills on their non-touch computer monitors. In a few months or perhaps after a year from now, multiple finger prodding computer products will flood the market. It will be the beginning of the end for single index to tri finger mouse clicking. Having been informed of the impending doom for the computer mouse, anything you see now that’s interesting on the computer screen, you MUST CLICK IT!

Before long there will be no more clicking sound of the mouse to savor. Now is the moment to keep on clicking until you can click no more. Click it like there’s no tomorrow! It’s ok to become a click addict now. Click addiction rehabilitation experts from the We Love You Please Don’t Click No More Rehabilitation Center in Los Angeles; a safe haven for Hollywood click addicts, profess that it is easier to rid of the habit at the start of the addiction. Being a click addict now will be worth it. Someday you might actually miss throwing the crappy mouse hard against the wall.

Idiot Girl’s New Web Design blog for Helping Newbies

Folks new to making web sites & blogging may want to head over the the WebDesignForIdiots.net blog published by Idiot Girl. Her blog has some interesting articles like 'Why not to use templates for OSCommerce store web sites' & 'Inner Website Advertising'. Good stuff; web design for idiots main page website tutorials for web site making Newbies!

I find that the blog is purposeful & is set to have plenty more of useful content in the future. A minor setback in my opinion is that visitors could currently experience difficulty in navigating the blog. There are just so many categories for the ‘Idiots’ web site maker a.k.a. newbies like me to wade through that we may not know where to start. I think that the Web Design category must be highlighted, clear & concise, like the header advertised, as the key content of the site while other content like SEO, Wordpress, & Blogging are made to be like supplementary content, both in appearance & total content size. Also, I am seeing quite a lot of the same posts under different categories but maybe it is just because the blog is new.

Overall, I think the blog looks good although the header might just be a little too big (understatement) for my taste as I would rather see more of the content than the word ’Idiots’ on my computer monitor. Anyway, I think that Idiot Girl is doing something good, helping out the web site making newbies like me to start making our own websites. Idiot Girl is also available via contact form on the blog & email. An experimental phone based web designing consultancy service is also offered by Idiot Girl for those who think that they require Idiot Girl to assist them in finding a solution to a web site making problem step by step.

Spyware- Much, Much More to it than Adware

People think that there is actually no difference between a spyware and an adware. Spyware is just a web term used to refer to advertising supported software, which is otherwise known as adware. These are the pop-up ads that often come out whenever we open a website or download shareware software. But according to some web experts, spyware is much, much more.

Supporters of spyware and adware say that though it can be pretty annoying at times especially when you are really in a hurry, both do give consumers huge benefits. Because the product ads generate income for developers of shareware software, consumers can get them for free. Developers are in turn paid for their work. Of course, people who do not want to be bothered by the constant pop-ups can always decide to pay the licensing fee or the regular fee for the software. People who want it for free just have to sacrifice through the spyware.

There is however another downside to it. Spyware, from the name given to it, is actually used as a tracking device in your computer system. These tracking devices will look into your surfing habits, your chatting logs and even the number of times you open your email. By being designed or programmed the right way, it can discover just about everything else in your system. And because the program runs in the background, there is no way that a person can control the kind of information that he or she sends out.

These kinds of programs were actually originally used by parents or people in the business sector who wish to track down and put on record web activity. It is actually beneficial but not when people are unaware that they are being tracked. This is often the case when people download software over the Internet. As mentioned before, it is used by companies to advertise their products and in turn help the developers of software keep their costs down so that they can afford to offer their programs for free.

Although privacy issues indeed come into play, there is nothing illegal about it. In fact, its use is prevalent all over the World Wide Web. There is however some areas that people who value their privacy will object to them. Because of this, people are given the option to refuse the software.

There is really no way that one can avoid adware and spyware as these programs are packaged with the software that you will be downloading from the Internet. The most that you can do is to avoid downloading from the internet and to refuse any file downloads that you did not personally authorize. It is also good to only view websites that have a good reputation or those that have anti-spyware and adware programs installed in their pages.

Asus Eee PC 1008HA Slim Form Factor Netbook Prototype

The Asus Eee PC 1008HA is a slim form factor netbook still in prototype stage. The new slim netbook from Asus was presented during the Cebit 2009. Not much of its new features apart from its new design can be mentioned about it. It’s pretty much just a slim netbook shell at this stage. Even the presenter does not know where the side USB ports will be on the Asus Eee PC 1008HA. It is sure starting to look like the Macbook Air with its super thin profile. Hopefully, the new model of it that goes into production will look even better & of course, hopefully bring better innovative features for a netbook although I doubt a touch screen will be part of it. Netbook manufacturers should consider touch screens because Windows 7 supports the technology. TUNE IN!

Experts Recommend RICE for Ankle Sprains

Among the common sports ailments that an athlete could experience is ankle injury. The most common of ankle injury is the inversion ankle sprain where the ankle rolls over to the outside. As a sports man, I had my share of ankle sprain like twice before; the first because I was too relaxed & forgot about my foot while the second incident was because I was running on uneven ground.

For ankle sprain treatment, health experts recommend following the R.I.C.E. principle.
R – Rest your ankle & don’t walk on it
I – Ice helps keep the swelling down; 20 minutes less with several sessions per day
C – Compressive bandages like using an ankle brace to help support the injured ankle
E – Elevate the ankle above heart level as much as possible for 48 hours

Adware, Spyware, Virus & Their Differences

Adware, spyware and computer virus share some similarities, one of which is that all three are major nuisances for computer users. Let's differentiate the three. Spyware is software that is purposefully made to harm your computer. What they do is that they create pathways wherein someone else aside from the computer owner can communicate with the computer. Normally spywares record the various types of web sites you visit which are later used by web advertisers to allow them to send you unwanted emails and pop-ups.

This is why spyware are usually frowned upon and greatly avoided. They are more intrusive than adware. Spyware have their own separate executable programs which allow them to record your keystrokes, scan files on your hard disks and look at other applications that you use including but not limited to chat programs, cookies and Web browser settings. The spyware then will send the information that it had gathered to the spyware author. The agent will then use this information for advertising and marketing purposes. They even sell the information to advertisers and other parties.

Adware, on the other hand, are more legitimate form of freeware. Similar to spyware, adwares are advertising materials which are packaged into a software or program and are installed automatically once that particular program or software is added into the computer system. Some forms of adware, on the other hand, download advertising contents as a particular application is being utilized. It is quite unfortunate that most of the adware programs take the form of spywares that is they track and report user information to program authors.

Some signs of spyware infections include pop-up ads that seem to be not related to the site you are viewing. More often than not, spyware pop-ups are advertisements about adult contents. Also, by noticing that your computer slowing down, there's a big chance that spywares and its other components have found their way in your operating system. When the Windows desktop takes a longer time to load, then it is best to scan your computer for possible spyware infections too.

Meanwhile, viruses are a destructive form of software. They were purely designed and created for one purpose alone: to wreck havoc to your computer. They destroy whatever they come in contact to and will initiate self replication and infect as many components of the computer's operating system or network as possible. Nowadays, a lot of anti-virus software also provides spyware and adware scanning and removal utilities. Some programs, however, are focused on locating and deleting or destroying spyware and adware programs. Whether it is anti-virus software or anti-spyware dedicated scanner, they both search your computer and identify any spyware and virus installed on your system.

They then remove it as well as their components located in the system registry among other places in your computer. It is therefore, good to regularly update your virus or spyware scanner to ensure that your computer is protected from the thousands of spyware and viruses from the internet & elsewhere. Never be fooled from ads that claim that their products only contain adware. These adware may be spyware in disguise and are just waiting to be deployed for them to gather your information. Learn to setup firewall systems and always block pop-up blockers to minimize computer infection and ensure the security of all your computer files.
