Do I Need a Website?

We must always try to find an affordable host. Not spending too much or too little. A cheap host does not exactly symbolize a credible reliability rating, but we must always look for ‘Value for Money’ deals. Also, regarding the efficiency and server/web host reliability, there are many cases of web hosts not providing the service they had assured other people, some had even shut down and were nowhere to be seen. Keep this note in mind, as though you would like a long-lasting website.

Next, would hiring a professional website builder be affordable? Is it the best option? For simple websites, we could always pick up the coding, or even use programs, as it is relatively simple. However, when it comes to more complex coding, and when you want it to do a tad more than just providing information, hiring help in doing so would be the best way. Not only in terms of design, but security is also a key factor in assuring a quality website. With the website also acting as a portal for businesses, security would definitely be the issue here.

So, having considered the things to do before building a website, do we actually NEED one? By creating one means boosting sales or promoting positive implications to oneself then go ahead and do what’s best. Yet again, planning is the key to success, in everything. A website can help towards success but it’s only a part of the plan.

Think Twice before Doing Travelers Checks

Travelers Checks was a good way to bring a large amount of money with you overseas without the risk of your money being lost or stolen. The key word is “was”. Nowadays, atm/debit/credit cards offers the same safety & convenience but with better acceptability. Just look for the sign like Cirrus, Mastercard, Visa or Plus for example at the ATM (auto teller machines) where your card is accepted & you can easily withdraw your cash overseas. Travelers Checks is a thing of the past.

In some countries you would be considered lucky to find banks or money exchangers who would want to accept the Travelers checks. There is one story where a woman bought some Travelers checks from a particular bank in New York & went to vacation overseas. Unfortunately, all the money exchangers & banks she went to did not accept Travelers checks. She then even went to the same bank franchise in the country of destination but she received the same response. Think twice before changing your money into Travelers Checks.

Karisma Attraction to Vacationing in Riviera Maya, Mexico

The more I view the luxurious Karisma hotels in Riviera Maya, Mexico the more attracted I am to the idea of going there someday for a vacation. White sandy beaches, all inclusive gourmet; luxurious, peaceful and relaxing surroundings certainly do paint a picture of a splendid vacation. Of course, being luxurious hotels, the vacation will not be cheap.

Still, I reckon, and I am probably not alone in this thought; a romantic vacation or a family vacation at one of Karisma hotels in Riviera Maya will be worth every cent spent. Perhaps someday, this part of the world will be my next vacation destination. All I know for now is that I have heard, read, and seen through online pictures; the Karisma Hotels of Riviera Maya so often that I feel a desire to experience it for myself.

C-gold Precious Metal Insurers & Gold Bar Redemptions

I have some information regarding which company insures the precious metals at C-gold. The answer to why gold bars are shipped from Canada when they are stored in Malaysia still bewilders me. I posed a question about it & hope to receive a reply about it soon. More about Cgold.

Meanwhile, below are some recent questions & answers regarding insurance & gold bar redemption at C-gold.

So what is the name of the company that insures all the precious metal at C-gold (both clients & c-gold owned)?

Quoted from the Chairman, C-gold representative at Goldage forums:

MAA is the insurer of Cyfro Associates premises, the Penang shop of Commerce Gold. The deal was brokered by MayBank, and includes coverage of the premises, contents, fittings, vault and all gold. We are calling in any additional bailments beyond pre-arranged thresholds, and they adjust the premium accordingly.”

Below is the answer given to me when I mentioned that I misunderstood why one would have to redeem a gold bar in Canada (or shipped from Canada) when the gold is stored in Malaysia. I am expecting more details about it in the future.

Quoted from the Chairman, C-gold representative at Goldage forums:

Canada is earmarked for a franchise, as is the UK, by the way, as well as just over a dozen other countries. We hope to further spread from there.”
“With c-gold you can get a gold bar shipped at no surcharge (shipping and insurance fees only).”

C-gold KYC Better than E-gold

Is the user verification system similar to e-gold where basically anybody (scammers, false identity, & etc) can open unlimited accounts? I believe it is what got e-gold in trouble with the U.S. law in the first place. Some experts may beg to differ. As informed by a C-gold representative at Goldage forums; unlimited accounts YES but without identity verification is a NO. C-gold claims it has a more strict KYC (know your client) system than e-gold. More about C-gold.

Quoted from the Chairman, C-gold representative at Goldage forums:

“While 'anyone' can indeed open 'unlimited' accounts, our KYC system is different from e-gold's insofar that everyone has to actually ID themselves. So if someone uses Donald Duck as name, and Disneyland as address, then he'll better come up with an American photo ID that shows a duck born some 80 years ago and a utility bill for Disneyland. If the photo then doesn't match Donald, we might ask for additional verification.”

Applying Online for a Public Bank Visa Debit Card

I applied for the Public Bank Visa Electron Debit Card a few days ago through the online application website. Mind you, the procedure is quite extensive & one would have to complete five pages of filling information. Why am I doing it?

Well, Paypal offers the new withdrawal option. Only Visa debit/credit cards can be used for it. I shall not even bother to try using my Ambank nexG debit card for it because it is a type Mastercard. At least not until Paypal puts on banners for it. More about Public Bank Visa Debit Card online application.

So moving on about the Public Bank Visa Debit Card, one is required to provide a copy of identification card (both sides) for Malaysian citizens & a passport copy for foreigners. Yes, foreigners have the chance to apply for the debit card too!

Then print out the provided online application, sign it, & send it along with the identification document copies to the stated Public Bank address within thirty days of application. Saving $2.5 per withdrawal (VMI debit card $7.5 including fees) can buy me a decent meal today. :-)
