Saving Money by Avoiding Impulse Spending

The questions below will help determine whether one is an impulse spender. Don’t cheat so be honest with your answers.

1.) Does your spouse or partner complain that you spend too much money?
2.) Are you surprised each month when your credit card bill arrives at how much more you charged than you previously thought?
3.) Do you have more shoes & clothes in your closet than you could ever possibly wear?
4.) Do you own every new gadget before it has time to collect dust on a retailer’s shelf?
5.) Do you buy things you didn’t know you wanted until you saw them on display in a store?

By having answered “yes” to any two of the above questions, you are an impulse spender & be prepared to indulge yourself in retail therapy.

This is not a good thing. It will prevent you from saving money for the important things like a house, a new car, a vacation or retirement. You must set some financial goals & resist spending money on items that really don’t matter in the long run. Impulse spending will not only put a strain on your finances but your relationships, as well. To overcome the problem, the first thing to do is learn to separate your needs from your wants.

Advertisers flood us with their hype & product promotions 24/7. The trick is to give yourself a cooling-off period before you buy anything that you have not planned to buy. When you go shopping, make a list & take only enough money to pay for what you have planned to buy. Leave your credit cards at home.

When seeing something you think you really need, give yourself two weeks to decide its legitimacy. Is it really something you need or something you can easily do without? By following this simple solution, you will mend your financial fences & your relationship as well.

‘Anytime Refund’ iPage Web Hosting Review at WebHostingChoice.com

Many web hosting services out there offers a myriad of features and promises yet more goodies in their web hosting packages. However, not many of them do offer an ‘Anytime’ money back guarantee! This guarantee is important because some buyers might not like the service they paid for after a few months then decide to go elsewhere. Another real scenario is that the customer decides to terminate their web hosting account prematurely after having paid for a one or two years web hosting package. This could be due to unforeseen business failure, change to non-internet target market, etc. Without an ‘Anytime’ money back guarantee, such people will have to accept that their money spent on web hosting can never be returned to them. You want a web hosting companies that understands this and refund the remainder of your current payment term!

A web hosting company called iPage is one of the few companies that provide an ‘Anytime’ money back guarantee to cater to the above scenarios and more without questions asked. More so, the web hosting packages are top notch with their cheapest web hosting package going for only $3.50 per month! Their servers are powered by 100% wind energy so that’s a bonus for environmentally conscious customers! Another feature of iPage web hosting service is that the control panel is a bit more versatile than the typical cPanel you get from other web hosting services. Advanced Touch Screen Will Make Computer Peripherals Obsolete

Someday, computer peripherals like the keyboard & mouse could be a thing of the past & obsolete. Who would require the use of a keyboard & mouse when the monitor screen itself is a highly developed touch screen? Such an advanced touch screen is still in its infancy stages & not in the mainstream computer market yet. As you can see in the video, the advanced touch screen is really fun & involves more direct interaction from the user. Although, there will probably more finger gestures to learn in order to use such a technology but I reckon it will be worth it. TUNE IN!

Lost Camera’s USB Cable? No Problem - Eye-Fi It!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Eye-Fi. All opinions are 100% mine.
SocialSpark Disclosure Badge
There was a time when I used digital cameras which had no other way to communicate with my computer other than via USB cables. Cables are not very comfortable to work with as they get in everyone’s way on the desk and looks just plain messy together. Well, the worst thing that happened to me was when my camera’s USB cable got lost after I loaned my camera to somebody. How was I supposed to upload my photos & videos onto my computer anymore? I did not have a USB card reader so the only way to make it work for me was to go downtown and buy it or buy a new USB cable for my camera. What a hassle!

There were really no other choices for me until the wireless SD memory card technology called Eye-Fi arrived at the stores. Now with Eye-Fi, I hardly even use anything that’s USB! After a quick setup, I tell Eye-Fi where to send the photos & videos - like to my computer and to my favorite sharing site; Facebook. I just place my SDHC capable digital camera on my desk and Eye-Fi sends the files directly into my computer through the wireless network. Transferring photos & videos into the computer could not be any easier now! Also, my desk looks cleaner and tidy with one less USB cable meandering on it.
