The term cracker is the proper definition of someone who accesses a computer or computer network for evil & malicious reasons. Now, many people use the term hacker when in actuality, they should be using the term cracker who is causing all the trouble. It’s basically a hacker being a criminal. They access computers & computer networks with the intent of destroying, or stealing information.
Being very advanced with network skills are the main traits of both the cracker & hacker. Add political reasons, highly planned, & a financially intensive co-curriculum to the work of a cracker & the person can be included in the cyber terrorist category. A cyber terrorist is someone who uses a computer network or the internet to destroy computers for political reasons like a terrorist attack but in the virtual world. Theoretically & as seen in some movies; power grids & financial markets could be shut down in order to bring down an entire nation. Cyber terrorists are a serious threat indeed.
