The pick up trucks have the back carriages useful to carry stuff like motorcycles, fridges, boxes, tools, & other items that one may not be able to suitably place on top of a car, jeep or in a van. In the process of loading, carrying, & unloading of the items, the surfaces of the back carriages could easily be marred.
