Doximity: HIPAA Compliant & Free Medical Community Social Network Site

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires social media services to provide a higher level of security. Anyone on popular social network media could pretend to be a doctor because the verification of users is minimal there. Therefore, doctors like William Pena, MD, MD who may already be using popular social networks are not at liberty to share clinical content patient information on such sites. Medical professionals have to network elsewhere online.

Hence the creators of the social medicine platform Epocrates have catered to this demand and created Doximity, the free medical community social network site. Apart from having features found in popular social networks, Doximity possesses added layers of security and verification hence being HIPAA compliant. Doximity will be a valuable tool for improving patient care and help to minimize communication breakdowns between doctors – ultimately saving more lives.

Long Live The Bugs!

RM9 only!
3 LED Bright Laptop Book Reading Companion Light

We need to thank them
Despite they ruin our software.
For all the testers they are welcome
For all developers — are not.

This endless war for satisfaction
Will never end and never fail
No doubt, testing is an action,
That’s all a kind of fairy tail.

Let’s wish the tail to be inspiring,
Let’s bless the software issues, lags
We are the testers, we’ll be fighting,
We really make the world, not bugs!

The Giant Corporation Manifesto

We all work for some kind of a giant corporation. Your clients also work for some kind of a giant corporation. Even the clients of your clients work for some kind of a giant corporation. Some kind of a giant corporation pays your clients who pay you to pay others. Our skills are endorsed by some kind of a giant corporation. Any doubts about somebody’s skills then go ask some kind of a giant corporation. There is the giant corporation law. Do what the giant corporation qualification covers and don’t do anymore. Get with the giant corporation Law. Live with it.

Cancer Causing Diabetes Drug Go Unnoticed

Diabetes is quite a common modern disease all over the world today. There are different types of Diabetes and even more types of medicines to treat this disease. Some medicines are better than others while some pretty much shouldn’t be called “medicine” at all. One such example of the latter is Actos (Piogliatazone), manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals for treatment of Type II Diabetes. Before I go on, here’s a link at the ready for people who already use Actos to treat Diabetes: actos cancer lawyers.

What’s so outstanding about this diabetes medicine called Actos? Well, for one thing, it increases the risk of bladder cancer for the user. Yes, C-A-N-C-E-R! The manufacturer should be punished because they are not clever enough to know that their Pharmaceutical product can cause cancer. The fact that Actos has been in the market since 1999 makes such an overlook unforgivable. Maybe the government’s too concerned about buying alien busting weapons rather than checking on dangerous medicines being sold for the past 10 years go unnoticed.

Bubble Map and 150 Scripts

I wanted to see how many scripts I have to do for this simple game -  laid it all out on a bubble map then roughly counted this yesterday..and now I am feeling a little bit of regret doing so. The sheer number was a surprise (about 150 scripts) and it is a little bit discouraging. Nonetheless, it had to be done otherwise I would go on and on without knowing where the work will end. At least a third (hopefully) of it will be pretty much copy & pasting codes. The rest will require research.

Start Building Windows Phone 7 Applications

Ironic isn’t it? I was browsing through online tech magazines and found that there was a free thousand word ‘How to build Applications for Windows Phone 7’ e-book available. Knowing me I just downloaded the thing. It’s not that I will focus on it and start building Windows Phone 7 applications tomorrow. I don’t know. Maybe someday I’ll use it. Yes that’s right. I just double checked the title of the e-book and it is definitely about Windows Phone 7 programming.

So here’s the ironic part. I downloaded this e-book thinking that this Windows Phone 7 must be a great thing just like its desktop OS counterpart but then I hopped over to the next magazine and there was an article blatantly accusing (presumably with facts) Windows Phone 7 of being the worst phone OS ever made by Microsoft. That is so funny! Get it? No wonder Microsoft is giving away free thousand page e-books about programming application for Windows Phone 7. When does Microsoft E-V-E-R give away something for free? Not that I know of.

Online Business: This is Where Translation Services Come In

People from all over the world may have the chance to view your online business. These people are potential customers hence it is important that your business is able to communicate with them in their preferred language.

This is where Translation services come in. You cannot depend on the automatic software translators available online. They will (and I say this through experience) mess up your translations because they can only provide translations that were programmed into them.

If you want a rough idea of what a sentence in a foreign language means or translate a few foreign words then you may as well go with such programs. On the other hand for clients who wants good interpretation of context, translation of colloquial words, and sensitivity to the dynamics of human languages then they have to go for human translators.

A Computer on Every Desk?

With the advent of PCS, computer systems are now accessible to small and mid-sized companies. Very few businesses, no matter how small, can not afford
to ignore the growing demand for instant information and finger-tip response to their clientele. Computerization is a standard tool of competition and, if used correctly, should rapidly pay for itself in a reduction of man hours and an increase in efficiency.

Most companies have to computerize in order to "keep up with the Jones" but many small and mid-sized businesses haven't the slightest idea which of the myriad of available hardware and software makes the most sense in terms of their own business. And ...this creates a natural marketplace for the computer consultant. The demand for these services is growing by leaps and bounds.

Making Cents

Computer consultants serve two basic functions:

Selecting the appropriate computer system, including hardware, software, networks and peripherals. This is a one-time project and vital to the success of the automation process. Most business people are afraid of spending thousands of dollars for an inadequate or incomplete system. A consultant maps out the strategy for the appropriate system and the most effective and efficient software.

Integrating the computer into day-to-day operations. A consultant may be used on a on-going basis as upgrades in software occur or then network needs to be expanded.

A computer should make a business so much more efficient and productive that is pays for itself. Computer consultants not only productive that it pays for itself. Computer consultants not only help businesses realize this potential but a computer consultant's expertise should make the process much less stressful and the transition processes more comfortable and easier to accept.

Overhead Is Minimal

The only inventory you need is what's stored away in your brain: education and on-hands experience are your greatest assets. Like most computer experts, you probably already own your own PC and that's the only equipment necessary for start-up. The more involved systems work will come on-site as you design and install your client's more sophisticated hardware and software. The lion's share of your start-up expenses will be advertising and marketing your services.

Because your work will be exclusively on-site at your corporate customer's locations, it will not be necessary, especially in the beginning, to have an outside office. Not only will your costs be kept at a minimum by working from your home, but you can deduct office-at-home expenses off your taxes for the percentage of your home you convert into office space, but be sure to use that area of your home exclusively for your work.

When you begin your marketing efforts, do your homework and find out the type of customer who is truly in need of your services. Most undoubtedly, you will want to target mid-sized corporations. The big boys probably have permanent on-site computer experts and the little guys probably can't afford you. Make your marketing dollar as effective as possible by doing some legwork before you begin.

You will also want to look long and hard at your areas of expertise. Do you have a specialty or are you an across-the-board type of computer expert? Should you target a specific industry? Can you easily recommend the proper system to an accountant as you can for a trucking company?

Geography plays a major part in identifying potential clientele. If your specialty market is scattered all over the country, you'll want to advertise on a wide-scale. If you are the across-the-board expert, you can target a specific location. Keep in mind, the closer to home you're working, the less of your capital will be eaten up with travel expenses.

It is very important to establish on-going relationships with your clientele. Many companies pay their consultant a retainer good for a few hours per month in order to have a standing opportunity to ask questions or upgrade programming. This is often a less expensive option for your clients than hiring a full-time staff person. You will need to let your clients know how you can help them in their day-to-day operations and set up a flexible enough schedule so that you will be able to work within their parameters. Working on this basis with a number of companies will guarantee you some regular income and cut back on marketing expenses.

Balance What You Know and Who You Know

Since you can't possibly know all there is to know about computers, you'll need to make contacts in the industry who can assist you when you come up against a situation you're not qualified to handle. You will want to compile a network of professionals you can call on to fill any voids you find as you go along. You have the option to subcontract to other consultants (many university professors, for example, free-lance as consultants). You may want to put your subcontractors on the payroll or you may simply wish to put your client in touch with your source and then step quietly out of the picture. You may not receive immediate remuneration for the recommendation, but the long-term benefits can be well worth your efforts. Not only will this build good-will with your client but the other consultants may wish to return the favor when they have a need for your area of expertise.

To Market or Not to Market?

When starting any new business, the main focus must be on effective marketing. The first contacts will be the most difficult and will probably require references. However, after you reach your capacity, you will have a tendency to slack off on your marketing. You'll be so busy with one or two clients that you'll forget that there is an end to the work and to the income. Suddenly, the work will be are starting all over gain. It is absolutely essential to keep marketing even when things are at their most hectic.

A certain percentage of your time should be spent bringing in new business no matter how busy your are. You will have to decide what percentage of time allows you to keep an even flow of business coming in and out. You will find yourself only spending a portion of your time in "billable hours." A certain amount of time must be spent doing administrative functions, like billing and taxes. Another portion of your work must be spent in staying up-to-date with current developments in the industry and with software and hardware innovations.

You may also want to round out your services by writing articles for magazines or publications or giving seminars or workshops. These types of endeavors can help provide additional revenues and expand your network for both clients and subcontractors.

If you billable hours fall off, you will want to devote more time to marketing but remember, no matter how much money you already to have to do,, your's is a finite service and sooner or later, you're going to need new business. So never forget to continue to market..., network, and expand your client base. This will help to curtail the roller-coaster ride many new and/or small businesses face.

Common courtesy will also help your gain referrals and keep your clients happy. Send a thank you note to clients to let them know that you appreciate their business. Make follow up calls to let them know that you are concerned that the services you provided them are effective and producing the results you were anticipating. A little personal touch here and there can keep your name in the minds of the most hardcore business person.

Manage Your Growth

Many computer consultants opt to stay one person operation. One of the attractions of being your own boss is that you can leave behind the hassles and politics of corporate life. The flip side of that coin is that the only funds coming into the business are your own billable hours in any given day. Owners of large computer-consulting firms reap a percentage of every dollar earned by each associate. There are many trade-offs involved in being self-employed. Neither option is going to be a walk in the park. But the most important thing to keep in mind is to manage your company's growth. Don't get in over your head, just take one step at a time and keep an eye on the road ahead.

WeReward from Izea Presents a Radical Change

Chops

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

“You Check in, We Reward” is the motto for the new WeReward iPhone application – another intriguing innovation from Izea; the company behind SocialSpark and Sponsored Tweets. While these two are virtual (internet) based applications, this new one called WeReward presents a radical change. You get to do things in real life like going to a Sushi Bar to eat, take your picture with the food and earn points from it which later on (after 1000 points) will be paid to you in cash (Paypal). This activity is groovy, especially for Americans who can actually participate in this. I doubt this is a global thin by the way. Anyway, do check out the video below to be more informed about WeReward.

To me, it seems like the idea behind WeReward is something along the lines of you getting paid to do something that you’ve been doing anyway. Here’s the skinny on how to start: Download the App to your iPhone, connect it to your social networking accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare, then get a Paypal account, and start discovering offers at WeReward.com. You can earn in two ways; one by completing Check In’s and another by completing Tasks. The latter does not require you to be in a specific location. Also, you get to earn points by referring friends to join WeReward, earning 10% of their verified Check In points. So remember, when you happen to be somewhere, do check on some offers from WeReward. It’s great to be rewarded!

Look for High Resolution Photo Types That Sell

MICRO-Stock photo marketplaces are like Shutterstock & Big Stock Photo where high resolution stock photos are being sold as low as 25 cents per photo download. The type of photos are the ones that are commercially in demand & highly usable for art directors & designers. References are most popular selling files at the marketplaces.

Additionally you can browse professional sites like Corbis, Comstock & GettyImages to know what kind of photos you can capture to earn some extra pocket change (realistically). Note: Don't go buying thousands of dollars worth of photography equipment expecting to earn thousands of dollars per month selling micro-stock photos from the sites. Trust me, I know this from experience. As with other arts, one requires passion and true interest in photography (the things I did not have and still do not bother possessing) to make the micro-stock photos production business 'take off'.

Click It Like There Is No Tomorrow

After you switch on the PC, You CLICK IT!
You open a file, You CLICK IT!
You open the web browser, You CLICK IT!
You go to a web site, You CLICK IT!
You see anything interesting on a site, You CLICK IT!
“CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK!”

Do you get my point now? People click on the mouse so much, especially when on the internet that clicking should be classified as a form of exercise.

Tests done on groups of avid internet users ranging from the age of 12 to 127 by the University of CLICK-IT revealed that 99% of avid internet users can’t stop clicking the mouse when using the internet. “Click it like there’s no tomorrow,” said Mr. Clicks; spokesman for the Hard Core Mouse Clickers Union. He was seen with a group of mouse extremists picketing against the ill treatment of plastic mice outside the Mousington plastic recycling plant.

This excessive clicking phenomenon contributes to the fact that psychological injuries ensued by broken computer mice is now the 2nd most irritating experience for the average internet user, resulting in an uncomfortable ‘Pain in the A55’ user experience, according to the Orion News Network. Worse off, Mr. Kontrolas; head of the Federal Department of Global A55 Control admits, “‘Pain in the A55’ complaints resulting from crappy mouse use are increasing at an alarming rate. Although, at first place is still slow internet connection which, since 1989 is the worst ‘Pain in the A55’. Now, however, slow internet connection leads bad mouse clicking experience by only a small margin for being a ‘Pain in the A55’. This is probably due to the advancement of current broadband technology worldwide.”

Thankfully, there is a cure for mouse clicking addicts who suffer from the ‘Clicking Way Too Much’ global epidemic, coming in the form of super interactive touch screens. Such advanced touch screen technology are similar to those featured on the Apel iProne & iProd Touch but only better as they assert the use all ten fingers. Talk about productivity! No more will the mouse click addict feel bad about having nine other useless fingers while on the internet!

The most skillful advanced mouse clickers use two to three fingers, nonetheless, a far cry to what the future of super interactive touch screen technology brings. Advanced touch screen technology of the near future will have the mouse placed into the museum archives as computer tools of a bygone era. With the coming Wendows Seben being ‘Touch’ capable, it becomes necessary for computer manufacturers to offer more products that emphasis the use of multiple finger prodding.

Now is the opportunity for all computer & internet users to practice the multiple finger-dancing skills on their non-touch computer monitors. In a few months or perhaps after a year from now, multiple finger prodding computer products will flood the market. It will be the beginning of the end for single index to tri finger mouse clicking. Having been informed of the impending doom for the computer mouse, anything you see now that’s interesting on the computer screen, you MUST CLICK IT!

Before long there will be no more clicking sound of the mouse to savor. Now is the moment to keep on clicking until you can click no more. Click it like there’s no tomorrow! It’s ok to become a click addict now. Click addiction rehabilitation experts from the We Love You Please Don’t Click No More Rehabilitation Center in Los Angeles; a safe haven for Hollywood click addicts, profess that it is easier to rid of the habit at the start of the addiction. Being a click addict now will be worth it. Someday you might actually miss throwing the crappy mouse hard against the wall.

Idiot Girl’s New Web Design blog for Helping Newbies

Folks new to making web sites & blogging may want to head over the the WebDesignForIdiots.net blog published by Idiot Girl. Her blog has some interesting articles like 'Why not to use templates for OSCommerce store web sites' & 'Inner Website Advertising'. Good stuff; web design for idiots main page website tutorials for web site making Newbies!

I find that the blog is purposeful & is set to have plenty more of useful content in the future. A minor setback in my opinion is that visitors could currently experience difficulty in navigating the blog. There are just so many categories for the ‘Idiots’ web site maker a.k.a. newbies like me to wade through that we may not know where to start. I think that the Web Design category must be highlighted, clear & concise, like the header advertised, as the key content of the site while other content like SEO, Wordpress, & Blogging are made to be like supplementary content, both in appearance & total content size. Also, I am seeing quite a lot of the same posts under different categories but maybe it is just because the blog is new.

Overall, I think the blog looks good although the header might just be a little too big (understatement) for my taste as I would rather see more of the content than the word ’Idiots’ on my computer monitor. Anyway, I think that Idiot Girl is doing something good, helping out the web site making newbies like me to start making our own websites. Idiot Girl is also available via contact form on the blog & email. An experimental phone based web designing consultancy service is also offered by Idiot Girl for those who think that they require Idiot Girl to assist them in finding a solution to a web site making problem step by step.

Monetizing to Make the most out of Your Traffic

Establishing your own E-commerce site is not like what it used to be in the past. There is thousands of competition that are all too willing to get a bigger share of the pie. In a nutshell, every scheme & method you can find to augment your sales would be very beneficial. We have got to admit to ourselves. Most of us are into it for the money. We are not going do the hard work just for the fun of it. Many site owners would not wait until hell freezes over just to see their profits. While there are some who takes things lightly there are always those who would rather see profit any given day.

It is common knowledge that without traffic we have no business. Like any business, without any customers you don’t get sales. Traffic represents all the people that get to see what you have to offer. The more people who see your products the more people there would be to buy them. Nobody puts up an E-commerce site that doesn’t expect profit. We have a startup capital that needs to be regained. With a consistent traffic, we at least have the opportunity to achieve that probability. Monetizing your traffic would optimize the probability of making the best out of it.

Making Money from your Traffic

The best & most proven method of making a profit out of your traffic is using advertising. The internet generates hundreds of thousands upon hundred of thousands of traffic everyday. Most of them are searching for something. While some are just looking for information there is also a good percentage that is looking for something that they need. The internet has proven to be a very reliable source in finding what was deemed to be a very unsearchable product. The internet has made the world a smaller place; you can advertise a product from the depths of Istanbul and still find a buyer from the center of Philadelphia.

Generating traffic is not an easy task. You have to contend with a great number of sites in order to generate a good quantity traffic flow. But done successfully this could open up a Pandora’s Box of possibilities. One of the benefits is monetizing your traffic flow. So, to get to the core of it the more traffic you generate the more likely you are considered as a desirable. Desirable; in a sense that good traffic flowing site is easily converted to profit. Basically traffic equals profit. Advertising is the name of the game; with the good advertising scheme you can use your traffic flow to your advantage.

When you have good traffic you have a good number of potential customers, customers that are willing to pour money into your coffers. Other than that these are also traffic that can be redirected to sponsored links that are willing to pay you for a sizeable portion of the traffic that you have generated. This scheme is called “pay-per-click”. It is one way of monetizing one’s site. With every click a visitor of your site makes on an advertised link you will be paid. The more traffic you generate & the more clicks that happen would spell to more profits.

Monetizing Using Affiliate Programs

Another method of monetizing your traffic is affiliate programs. You can link up with other tried & tested sites & online companies to monetize your traffic by having a percentage of sales generated by traffic coming from your site. The basic idea is traffic generated from your site will go to another site that can offer a product that you do not carry. Many programs can keep track & make records of transactions that was made possible because of site linkage.

When purchases are made by customers that were led by your site to their site you get a percentage of that sale. Affiliate programs would give you the benefit of monetizing your traffic without the actual need of carrying or promoting a certain product. There are so many ways & methods to monetize your traffic. All it takes is a bit of hard work & the desire to successfully launch a profit-earning site. The internet is a veritable source of information, many tips & guides are offered everywhere in how to monetize your traffic & make your site a good profit earner.

Using Overture/Yahoo Effectively for Getting Visitors to Your Site

Overture was the original inventor of the P4P or Pay for Performance & was taken over by Yahoo. The online advertising system was a hit because of the many businesses wanting to take advantage of the system. Overture was & is still is one of the easiest & convenient way to shop online.

Here’s how it works. To have a person go to a site from another site through ads would mean that the ads on the source site needs to be very visible. It is a way to direct potential customers to the site. The site using Overture/Yahoo would receive increase in traffic & sales. Overture/Yahoo provides a service where companies can have their ads on sites. The ads are shown when certain keywords are used on the sites having the ads. Website visitors are critical for any internet based business. High traffic volume will increase the percentage of successful sales for your company. Overture/Yahoo helps.

The same principles are used with Google Adwords. Google Adwords & Overture/Yahoo uses keyword & keyword phrase searches to determine which ads to be shown. Ads from Overture/Yahoo are all over the internet like on the browsers & not limited to publisher sites like blogs or business websites. For instance, when a person searches using a web browser, typing in a keyword or keyword phrase, then the search enginie gives out the results in a page. On the page as well, it could be on the right, on the top, & etc; you will see selected ads that are paid by advertisers, relevant to the search.

Let me give you an example. Perhaps you have a Real Estate business. You choose keywords that will prompt your ads on a page when a keyword is searched. When a search engine user types in Buying House, then your ad will be shown provided you have designated Buying House as one of your keywords. The Overture/Yahoo service is not free. You will be charged in the number of keywords or keyword phrases that you specify & how many instances that people click on your ads.

Mind you, Overture/Yahoo is not a cheap way to advertise your online business. Nonetheless, a marketing service like Overture/Yahoo provides faster results & on a larger scale. So you would have to consider using Overture/Yahoo services as a form of investment. With so much competition in the internet based businesses, a leap forward by using Overture/Yahoo will provide your business the edge it needs over the competition.
