The 11.1-inch Sony VAIO VGN-TZ11MN ultraportable is touted to possess a 9-hour battery life (probably just the laptop being on without any usage) & LED backlit screen (impressive HD display). There were test made, looping HD WMV movie on the ultraportable & the battery lasted a good 3.5 hours (with the wi-fi on).
The ultraportable packs enough muscle to fly through Vista Professional (Buyers receive a dual-core, mobile Core 2 Duo chip running at 1.06GHz on each core) although other cheaper notebooks uses the same chip & sells at a third of the price. The target market is for business users with deep pockets (prices start at $3000) because it does not have good graphics card, only a standard integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. Gamers & other graphic intensive notebook users will want to look elsewhere.
