Google Apps Appliance Could Stir Microsoft

At the moment, Google is the dominant force in search space. Microsoft had even offered to buy Yahoo recently in order to come out at top. Nonetheless, Microsoft does not seem to consider Google as a threat in any way; well, at least Microsoft does not admit to it, especially in the enterprise industry. Not looking at Google as a threat could be a disadvantage to Microsoft because of the upcoming Google Apps. Bill Gates once mentioned that the best day for Google products is the day they announce them.

He also added that Google does not have the richness & responsiveness in their products for doing productivity type of things. Well, provided Google takes the correct measures for their Google Apps, mainly regarding customers’ private information & providing hardware solution; Microsoft could be in a tough situation. Microsoft always maintains premium prices for its products & with the rise of Google Apps Appliance, Microsoft may very well have to reduce prices or start losing customers to Google in the enterprise industry.
