The development of Quantum computing is probably going to stem out of existing computing technologies. Specifically in the field of computer chip manufacturing where silicon are the basic material for computer chips today.
On that note, scientists at Delft University of Technology are successfully studying the qubit (quantum bit) by using tiny superconducting rings & ‘quantum dots’. Qubit is ‘1’ & ‘0’ in the same instance while a normal computer bit is only either ‘1’ or a ‘0’.
