There are many ways that you can store your computer data. They include DVDs, flash drives, hard drives, online, & etc. You should expect that you computer hard drive to fail at one point or another because after all it is mechanical in nature. After years & years of service to you, your hard drive will finally make its last disc turn. Are you ready for it? What you can do is to have a backup plan, namely a secondary hard drive like an external hard drive. You can have a second internal hard drive inside your computer too.

They are pretty much the same so whichever your choice; a secondary hard drive is a good data backup option. You can buy external hard drives that range from about 80GB to above 500GB in capacity. The vast storage enables you to transfer large files or even the entire hard drive to backup. In the event of your computer’s main hard drive fails, you can easily use the files in the secondary hard drive to continue your work while you decide to have the hard drive repaired or replaced.
