MICRO-Stock photo marketplaces are like Shutterstock & Big Stock Photo where high resolution stock photos are being sold as low as 25 cents per photo download. The type of photos are the ones that are commercially in demand & highly usable for art directors & designers. References are most popular selling files at the marketplaces. Additionally you can browse professional sites like Corbis, Comstock & GettyImages to know what kind of photos you can capture to earn some extra pocket change (realistically). Note: Don't go buying thousands of dollars worth of photography equipment expecting to earn thousands of dollars per month selling micro-stock photos from the sites. Trust me, I know this from experience. As with other arts, one requires passion and true interest in photography (the things I did not have and still do not bother possessing) to make the micro-stock photos production business 'take off'.
