Apprenticeships for Career Development in Construction Industry

It is essential that the workers in the U.K. construction industry acquire their qualification cards. It is mentioned on the CITB-COnstructionSkills website, CSkills.org that everybody working in the construction industry will be fully qualified by 2010. Visit CSkills.org for more information regarding the Card Scheme. There is a link to new website for employers who employ migrant workers & want them qualified, competent, & safe.

Another interesting section of the CSkills.org is the Training & Learning section. You can find information about Training & Qualification inside the section too. One way for career development of young workers in the construction industry is via apprenticeships. Apprenticeships are probably the best way for someone to acquire skills & being paid for it.

An apprentice’s skills will be recognized by the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) / Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs). More experienced workers opt to take the On-Site Assessment & Training (OSAT) to receive a NVQ or SVQ. While for the business owner, apprenticeship is developing talent for the benefit of their own business.
