It’s a good thing that I could use my flash drive to copy the aswClear.exe program into the laptop after downloading it using the other computer. By the way, did I tell you that the Avast! anti virus messed up the wireless connection to the internet on my sister’s Dell laptop too? Well, it happened. Perhaps you can initiate the aswClear.exe program directly from the flash drive too but I copied it onto the Avast! induced problematic laptop.
Yes, so the aswClear.exe program is the only way to uninstall the Avast! anti virus. It is a unique uninstall procedure but obviously troublesome for the uninformed user. Anyway, I tried to run the program on windows & it gave me an error message. Yes, I should pay more attention to the uninstall instructions. Ok, run it when Windows is in Safe Mode. Fine, so it’s like restart the computer, press F8 vigorously, & etc. Here’s the link to how my problem using Avast! occurred in the first place.

Yup..so be careful about using Avast! anti virus. It could lead to more problems than being a solution.
