Sure, search engine optimization cost lower than paying for pay per click advertising. Still, you may want to consider the latter too, just to seal the deal of your site receiving the high volume of traffic. Having your site pop up in the high ranks of the search results page & seeing your site advertised in the Pay Per Click advertising next to the results will provide a great chance that more people will go to your site. Ideally, paying for traffic means that consistent traffic to your site is guaranteed. There will be no empty sales day.

When you ad get clicked, you will be charged. The advertising type is called Pay Per Click. On the other hand, some search engines charge depending on the count that your ad shows up or certain keywords or keyword phrases are searched. So you should have good keyword content on your site to optimize the advertising. There are failures even though in general, paying for traffic is a good idea. You may want to do keyword research & more market research before you think of spending a small fortune on advertising to generate traffic.
