Man these ants sure do come out of nowhere. Once in a while (more frequently for folks who don’t get their home protected) these pesky ants – whole families of them come out from heck knows where and start organizing raiding parties all over your home. It does not take much for them to start meandering around your home. Just a misplaced jar of sugar, some food leftovers lying about on the table or floor will start an ant raiding frenzy. You may want to contact a pest control company like Bulls-Eye Pest & Termite Control; a Houston pest control company if this is the case. Not only do pest control companies eradicate the ant invasion of your home but roaches, termites, fleas, mosquitoes, rats and etc will be ‘taken care of’ too.

What's the Snag Behind the Spyware
The concept behind the technology of spyware is that, a number of advertising companies take interest to install tracking software into the computer system. This aims to use all internet connections, get statistical or other information data. They claim "home" attesting assurance of company's security policies not to collect sensitive data for confidentiality, and with full promise to establish continuity of anonymity.
However, it is an establish fact that the PC functions as a "live" server. This allows for any kind of information disseminations with or without the consent of the server; bottom lining the fact, there is always a risk for any transfer of any information even those covered by protection policies between the advertiser and the so called "mothership." In the end just as nobody would wish, it will be sending assimilated data that might escape the benefit of payment from the PC database.
Although spyware and adware could be two in one to front probable interference to the server's privacy, spyware could stage sole manipulation to indulge deeper in affecting the users privacy, prompting slow-down computer's effectiveness, windows' pop-ups of undesirable ads, and spam e-mails.
Several media companies are perennially seeking ways to eliminate large expense for web development and internet costs. Instead these companies tend to pay part of their revenue solicitations from reputable brands' banner sales to host servers. This is done by installing reputable piece software by way of so called "piggybacking," or tricking methods as the Trojan horse technique, installing some "rogue" anti-spyware program, eluding detection of its being a disguised security software.
A spyware no adware technology is an advertising copyright itself, can stand without having to do with any adware's vulnerability threats. The so-called "Web accelerator" or helpful software agents: Example, the Bonzi Buddy (quoted from: Wikipidea), targeted to children: "He will explore the internet with you as your own friend and sidekick. He can talk, walk, joke, browse, search, e-mail and download like no other friend you've ever had! . . Best of all, it is FREE."
This piece of copyright text is so deceptive for unknowingly, motives behind depict to pursue some ends in order to evade something that will disrupt the mobility of cash flow of the mother host.
Why is Spy ware Deceptive?
1. It does not self-replicate; instead, it invades infected computers for commercial gains purposes.
2. It monitors Web browsing activity (sales strategy) and routes of all HTTP to advertising agencies.
3. Delivery of pop-up advertisements
4. Theft of Credit and Identification card numbers in relation to the notorious identity theft around.
5. Spyware gets into the system by exploitations of other software vulnerability.
The Effects of the Spyware upon Computer Usage
There are so many complicated effects that are induced by spyware. It may not even be detected as an obvious virus infection, but comes in, a core factor of ineffective results of computers' performance; like network traffic, disk usage, CPU malfunction which may be mislead to be a PC crash, and finally resolving to replace the whole system with a new one. The demand for technical support and assistance is another recourse for badly spyware-infected computers. Another option is to have a thorough "cleanup" of the whole system. It needs massive reinstalling on software in order to revitalize as new.

The Key to Better Websites - Navigation
One of the primary implications of a well-organized / good website, is to keep your visitors in the website. A website is definitely created for a purpose, unless intended for personal use, which is the minority. For example, a portfolio website would want to be visited and it’s content viewed. For companies and internet businesses, your website certainly aims to provide product information, to make sales, or somewhat similar. However, most individuals undoubtedly prefer visually captivating designs, so on and so forth. It is undeniable that this causes no harm, but one must put himself/herself in other people’s shoes, as to understand how a visitor to the website might think, do and react.
Navigation: As I said, a web designer has to learn how to think the way your visitors think.
Situation A: Website with good navigation ( 2-3 hyperlinks to target page ), well planned in terms of placement, and design.
Situation B: Website with poor navigation ( takes forever for the visitor to reach his/her target page ), hard-to-read navigation fonts and poor placement of the navigation buttons/bar.
In Situation A, a visitor will always want to be able to access his/her target page. For example, the individual comes across your website, and is interested in the product sold, but wants to find more information. He/she finds the navigation with no trouble, and enters the particular product information page.
As for Situation B, a visitor stumbles into the website, and would also like to find out more information about the product. Unfortunately, due to bad placement and fanciful font-types, the visitor takes forever, or even fails to find the navigation bar. Even when he/she does so, links to the product information are nowhere to be found, (example : home > about > products > product image > etc…[a few more clicks] > product information ).
Analysis: In both situations, wouldn’t a website with characteristics similar to the Situation A be more rewarding?

Reducing Load Time Through Image Optimization
Even though more and more Internet users switch to broadband every year, a large portion of the web's population is still running on good old dialup connections. It is therefore unwise to count them out of the equation when you're designing your website, and a very major consideration we have to make for dialup users is the loading time of your website.
Generally, all the text on your website will be loaded in a very short time even on a dialup connection. The culprit of slow-loading sites is mainly large images on your website, and it is very important to strike a delicate balance between using just enough images to attract your users and not to bog down the overall loading time of your site. You should also go to a greater length and optimize every image on your site to make sure it loads in the least time possible. What I really mean is to use image editing software to remove unnecessary information on your images, and thereby effectively reducing the file size of your image without affecting its appearance.
If you own Photoshop, it will be obvious to you that when you save an image as a JPEG file, a dialog box appears and lets you choose the "quality" of the JPEG image -- normally a setting of 8 to 10 is good enough as it will preserve the quality of your image while saving it at a small file size. If you do not have Photoshop, there are many free image compressors online that you can download and use to reduce your image's file size.
On the other hand, you can opt to save your images in PNG format to get the best quality at the least file size. You can also save your images in GIF format -- the image editing software clips away all the color information not used in your image, hence giving you the smallest file size possible. However, saving in GIF format will often compromise the appearance of your image, so make your choice wisely!

Mistakes To Avoid When Using Web Templates
Website templates are very affordable and they save you a lot of effort and time when you want to create a new layout for your website. However, a lot of people make mistakes in the process of choosing and using a web template and end up with something that was unlike the image they had in mind. Here are some guidelines to help you avoid those mistakes.
The first obvious mistake you should be aware of is using a template that is very popular. If many people use the same template, your website will not appear unique at all and your credibility as a solid, different website will be tarnished. In other words, you will appear generic just like your next-door neighbours. The whole point of using a web template is to save time and effort. You just change the title and appropriate details and you're done. The biggest mistake one makes is to customize the template beyond recognisation. While that may be good in the sense that you're creating a unique graphic, you're defying the very purpose of using a web template -- saving time and effort.
However, on the opposite side, if a template you purchase is suitable but some changes must be made to suit your site's theme, then you will have to take some time to make the changes. For example, you can find a very nice template that suits your hobby site except the original designer has put an image of stamps in the header. You can find images of garden plants and spades to replace the stamps for your gardening hobby site. However, do only make the necessary changes and don't redesign the whole template. In some circumstances, some people simply make the wrong choice of templates. This is a very subjective issue but you have to be careful in selecting templates to suit your audience. Do not choose templates just because they are pretty, choose them because they serve your purpose.

Keeping the Computer in Good Condition Using Free Spyware Adware Programs
Ever downloaded something from the web and the next thing that happens, you notice something goes wrong with the computer? When something like this happens, there is a very big chance that the system has been infiltrated by a virus, spyware or adware. Everyone surely knows how dangerous viruses can be. It can shutdown the entire computer that will cost the individual a lot of money just to have it repaired. But what about spyware and adware? How dangerous are these?
Spyware are programs designed to send certain information back to the programmer. This may include bank account numbers, credit card numbers and anything else important. Someone can use this to buy items without the owner really knowing until the bill comes which is already too late to do almost anything.
Adware on the other hand will show pop up ads that are really quite annoying even if the person did not log into that site. It might inform the user there is a virus in the computer even if there is none and those who click on it will get it thus causing more problems.
Given that this problem has happened in homes and in offices, software companies have come out with various versions of spyware and adware programs to help get rid of it. The program will first eliminate the existing ones in the computer and then create a firewall keeping future ones from entering. The individual will notice that some of these are free while those made by the major corporations charge a certain fee. This can either be bought from the store or downloaded from the web, which usually comes with a free trial period that will surely impress and eventually make the customer buy it.
Having a software program that can fight against spyware and adware will help prevent damage from happening to the computer. In fact, since there are new threats everyday, the designers have even come up with updates that can be uploaded automatically keeping everything in check. The person can choose to pay but given that it performs the same function, why not get the kind that is free?
One good example is Ewido designed by the Grisoft Group. It can handle spyware and adware as well as other threats such as Trojans, dialers, worms and keylogger. Spybot Search and Destroy is another popular brand. This is compatible for windows based operating systems, which has been recommended for use by both PC Magazine and PCMag.com. Adware is another known program. If the user will use this for personal things, then this can be downloaded for free. Those who use it for commercial purposes will have to pay a small fee.
Those who choose to download the spyware and adware program for free should be careful. This is because there are some that are bogus and when downloaded, can cause big problems to the computer. This can be prevented by doing some research first and then deciding what to do next. Computer security should be everyone’s concern. A simple slip up or ignoring this could be disastrous later on because the cost for repairing the unit could almost be the same as buying a new one. With that, it is up to the individual whether to get one that is free or pay a little extra to be able to feel safe at all times.
Top 5 Ways To Generate Low Cost Website Traffic
There is one hard and fast rule in generating income for your website: A steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, it hardly bares a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed in doing so, and these results to the sites demise. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money.
BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.
Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.
You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it. Here are the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.
Exchange Links
This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites. A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic. Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.
Traffic Exchange
This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours. Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.
Write and Submit Articles
There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself. Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has. Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.
Make a Newsletter
This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well. As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.
Join Online Communities and Forums
This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site. Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.
Easily Sell Your Gold for Cash in Case of Emergencies
Of course gold is not something that you would want to buy and sell frequently unless you are a gold day trader. Gold to the layman is something that you would want to buy and keep for the long term. Nonetheless it is good to know that you can easily sell your gold for cash in case of emergencies. U.S. Gold Bureau offers a Buy Back Guarantee for its customers. U.S. Gold Bureau will buy back any gold coins or bullion at the current wholesale bid price for any reason given by the customer, anytime. Liquidity is not a big issue for gold. You can keep gold for years on end without worrying about not being able to find a buyer to sell to in the future.
An Automated Online Ordering System
When you have an online company, it only makes sense to use all the online resources available. The payments you accept should be credit card and Paypal - if you choose. Are you going to accept international orders? If you are going to receive orders daily, which is the goal, you will want to use an online shopping cart that automatically accepts the credit card, approves it and delivers the autoresponder emails and in the end, the product itself.
What exactly is an online shopping cart? It is a lot like a regular shopping cart, where you can add or remove items as you please. It calculates shipping and taxes and the total of the purchase and passes this information along to the merchant account by a secure site, which protects the customers’ information. Choosing a shopping cart is crucial because if you choose the right one, it can double your sales. Imagine trying to purchase a product and you are entering all your information when you order and the pages take forever to load. Or worse, there are too many forms to fill out or you cannot find the pricing or product list easily. You would abandon that idea pretty quickly.
In addition, you will also need a reputable merchant account that can handle the amount of sales you are going to send their way. You do not want to find a merchant account that requests a very high escrow fund, because this can be difficult to come up with. Before you launch your product, you need to make sure you have a way to provide customer service. You could hire a fulfillment house that takes care of customer service, orders, credit cards, and shipping all at once. But, if you intend to have a lot of business, this is not very cost effective. It would be much easier to take care of the customer service with paid employees and have a special fulfillment house only duplicate, package, and ship products for you.

Precious Metals Bullish Rise Seems Justified
Gold price is up, Silver price is up, and Platinum price is up - seems like there is no stopping this precious metal bull rush. You can go to the United States Gold Bureau website and view the price chart showing Gold, Silver, and Platinum’s price performance for the past 60 days. This bullish rise seems justified at this part of the year where major global currencies like the GBP, EUR, and the USD are going through turmoil. People are looking to get money out of currencies and into relatively stable gold bullion and other precious metals. Check the Free Investor’s Kit at this website too to learn how to invest in gold and acquire the secrets of successful investors.
Cost: Choosing PC Gaming or Console Gaming
Games consoles used to be great alternative for folks who do not know how to build their own gaming PC rig. Nowadays, gaming consoles have evolved & can hold its own against the powerful PCs of the PC Gaming world. In fact, there are instances when you can see gaming consoles taking over the lead in the gaming industry. When it happens, you start to find a lot of articles like PC Gaming VS Console Gaming, Why Console Gaming is better than PC Gaming, & so on & so forth being published. For me, PC Gaming involves a lot of cost. You have to buy the Gaming standard PC which includes a powerful processor, a powerful graphics card, preferably the costly liquid cooling system, an airtight casing so that your PC won’t make too much noise from the powerful graphics card fans, & a whole lot more. Yes, you will receive the better ‘eye candy’ (graphics clarity) with a very powerful computer gaming system but sooner than you think, there will be new games that are more demanding, forcing you to upgrade your PC Gaming system. For PC Gaming enthusiast who has plenty of cash to spare, it is not a problem.
On the other hand, for many gamers, upgrading an already pricey gaming rig to a pricier one is not an option. Such a scenario brings many original PC Gamers away from PC Gaming & onto looking at gaming consoles as a viable gaming alternative. Why? It is because gaming consoles do not have to be upgraded as extensively as a Gaming PC. In fact, you may find that you will not have to upgrade anything until a few years or even perhaps half a decade until the next generation Gaming console is released. Compare that to the Gaming PC technology that revolutionizes itself after every 6 months.

People Still Investing in Peak Price Gold
Employment rate is struggling week after week in the US. People are wary of their buying power in USD. More and more people are investing instead in precious metals like gold bullion, coins, and etc even when its price is already at its peak (to avoid risking their fortune disappearing into thin air). Though I’m pretty much hoping for the USD to regain strength within 6 months time – it’s not like I have so much money in US dollars anyway.
The reason being that at least I’d have some extra purchasing power after converting my cash in USD to Ringgit Malaysia next year. I mean how far lower can the USD go from here? The lowest ever I’ve seen the USD go against RM is RM2.8/2.7 per $1 and that was like around 10-15 years ago during the internet bubble collapse. On the other hand gold kept on climbing and still is.

Using ZyXEL P-660R with Aztech Router
This evening I went to TMpoint and bought a new modem. I got the ZyXEL P-660R Compact Series ADSL2+Router modem (comes with a phone splitter & an cat-5 ethernet cable too). It cost me about US$25. I have never heard of this brand but after browsing the ZyXEL company website. I found out that this brand is an internationally distributed brand which covers Russian sector, Europe, Asia, America and Africa too. Good for me then. Huhu. The best thing is that I did not have to but the crappy white box Aztech modem again. Believe or not, I saw the same modem sold at TMpoint too!
When I installed the modem at my home tonight I encountered a few problems. This modem is not exactly a pug and play type probably due to its router compatibility function (don’t ask me what this means). Anyway, I wanted this modem to connect to my existing Aztech router instead of directly to a computer. The problem was that the installation guide only provides instructions for direct modem operation to the computer.
So I had to blow another night in hardware mode. I spent one hour fooling around with the new modem to computer connection configuration. I opened the default ip address, changed password, and a lot of settings (basically I don’t remember what I did). I even went through the wizard (called genie here) installation guide that came with the CD but to no avail. I finally got the configuration I wanted to work with this modem by switching off the DHCP server at the Aztech router settings accessible through the browser. There and then I had internet access but only through one computer. Then I enabled the DHCP server again at the router settings to allow my other computers internet access. Everything works peachy now!

Can’t Get Free Replacement Modem

No! - got a call from the TMNET customer service regarding my ISP report status. This time a man called and told him about my modem issue. He told the ‘Inspection’ department or whatever it was called about it too. Thereafter, he mentioned that I have to find the old modem first in order to keep the lifetime warranty of the modem valid since they have to dispose of it (beats me what this means). Well, that pretty much sums up my options now. The old modem is gone and I can’t get a free replacement without it so I got to buy a new one. The only choices I have left where I will buy this new modem. I could buy it at TMPOINT at Ampang Point or buy it at the computer shop near there too. I could buy some other stuff as well like a new mouse and a phone splitter too.

To Investors Who Have Not Gotten in this Bullish Gold Rush Yet

The gold price has risen yet again. Gold investors who had gotten in early at this gold bullishness (around three months ago if I’m not mistaken) must be smiling happily as their fortune is growing right before their very eyes. So how about for those who have not gotten in this bullish gold rush yet? Well it is good to know that the value of gold (gold bullion, coins, jewelry & etc) and other precious metals have not been known to depreciate wildly since ancient times and have been held highly for this very fact since the earliest human civilizations. Now is a good time as any to invest in gold for the long term so to speak. Well, maybe wait for a slight dip or so for the eagle-eyed investors. Anyways, gold is a good place to put money in to protect from currency fluctuations and preserve one’s fortune.

Aztech Modem Far Below Normal Performance Expectation

I’ve used a couple of DSL modems in the past. One was manufactured under the TMNET license and the most recent one was from Aztech. I bought a router which was the Aztech brand so I thought that buying a modem of the same brand was a good decision. Well, I was wrong. The Aztech DSL605EU which looks like a small white colored box started having problems a few days after its one year warranty expired. The quality of this device is far below normal expectations. The modem I got from TMNET lasted me at about five years before going kaput!
So I called the Aztech service center to make a complaint. The person gave me the normal ya-da ya-da; “There are many factors that cause the modem to fail,” and etc. Well, I told him that the TMNET technician had encountered many problems with customers using the same modem as mine. Then the Aztech personnel mentioned that they had not received many complaints about it. I told him that some people are lazy to call and complain. Come on, without complaints from customers like us these big companies will continue to sell low standard products and make quick unscrupulous profit from the end consumer like us. Anyway, He suggested that I bring the Aztech DSL605EU modem over to the service center in Kelana Jaya to get it repaired for about US$10. Well, that makes me laugh because the modem itself cost me about US$25.
Now why would I want to go travel half an hour by car and send the modem for repair and take it again another day (satu kerja la plak..huhu / now that’s a job by itself). The total cost of the trip would cost me the same as buying a new modem or perhaps more (with the toll cost). I told him that I am not going to buy an Aztech branded modem ever again.

Not Reminded TMNET Modem Having a Lifetime Warranty

I can’t believe that the TMNET technician did not mention to me about the TMNET modem having a lifetime warranty. Twice they came to my home and twice they did not mention to me about it. I told the customer service representative that these technicians should undergo some re-training about such issue. Not only did I buy a new modem last year to replace the broken TMNET modem (which lasted me a good five years by the way) but now the modem is misplaced and seems like I will have to buy another modem anyway. Sheeesh! The lifetime warranty is up in smoke - I’ll wait for the customer rep to call me again on Monday as see whether I can still get a new modem without having to return the old one (which I don’t have). Maybe it will be all right since I have been such a loyal customer to TMNET ISP.
